Chicago

It was a good weekend.

I left work on Friday and headed up to Chicago. The trip took a ridiculous 4 hours because of a combo of traffic and my bladder being unable to hold a quickly downed Monster M-80. One of my stops consisted of me picking up dinner from McDonalds, buying the aforementioned energy drink, and filling up my car with good ol fashioned BP gas. Nothing like a southern style chicken sandwich washed down with energy drink, let me tell you. God bless America.

There is a wind farm on the way to Chicago  on I-65 that is incredible. No exaggeration..probably at least a hundred wind turbines. They go as far as the eye can see, and its really really cool.

It’s funny when you start arriving in the city, because the speed limit drops and everyone speeds up. Driving in chicago puts a smile on my face. So many cars going so fast, it’s a passive aggressive drivers dream.

I went back to the town I went to high school in Friday night and stayed at my best friend’s house. I haven’t been back there in a long time. And it felt really good. Drove by the old house…which is weird. I’m already starting to forget what the inside of the house was like. Anyways, Bry Guy and I stopped by the Valliere’s for a while and then went out for a few beers. It was a good night, saw some random people from high school.

I’ll spare you the details of the typical shenanigans of the college crew, but I must say, that there is one element of the bar scene that annoys me every time. Girls that act like you saying one word to them is a shocking, embarrassing and awkward thing and that they are far too good to be speaking to a stranger, despite clearly being all dolled and painted up because they want some knight in shining armor Notebook man to walk in the door and sweep them off their feet. It’s amazing how many of these people there are. I want to meet as many people as I can. The more unique the better. And it drives me crazy when girls act like they’re too good for all that. Get over yourself.

Rant over. But good company and a great weekend.
