I’ve had this discussion a few times recently and it doesn’t lose its luster. The internet is so powerful. It, in my opinion, is the most powerful tool ever created. Because it is instant access to information. And the organizational power is unfathomable. Just look at Arab spring, occupy, the keystone pipeline, SOPA, and the NDAA. Things/events that, with the power of the internet, have reached unimaginable support or opposition. Not because the internet sucks people in, but because the internet alerts people of things they inherently oppose but didn’t know existed. Things that they otherwise would have been uninformed about. Any law that would inhibit this powerful and progressive tool would be nothing short of oppressive.
